May 25th 2007domAdventure Suggestions
hello crew - as you may know i will kind of be a bit shadowy this weekend as it is smilers stag do. however it does take place in newquay so no doubt will see some of you around the campus!
anyway - reason for post - update on the siracusa situation. she is fixed, repaired and ready to blast everything out of the water again. the pisser is that she is on the bloody hard stand at the marina. they dont have a crane on hand til wednesday. oh did i mention i go away for 11 days? guess when - yes; wednesday. thank you, marina! the service was exquisite!
but the weekend of the 16th june, it’s sure to be a belter. here’s what i am thinking so far….
am: breakfast on boat. we wont concern ourselves with menus at this stage, but will be nice to enjoy some champagne and strawberries first thing under the blue skies around the carrick roads
midday: sport! wakeboarding, snorkelling, freediving, general jumping off boat and messing about. fishing too. high speed cruising, get every one handling the boat (bailey you have PB level 2, your handling skills are eagerly anticipated!)
afternoon: lunch - this could be on boat, or we could sprint back to falmouth and moor up and grab summat in t’pub
afternoon later: high speed run out to sea and then to fowey…or plymouth. shower and change on boat. drinks on deck, quaffing champagne and guffawing loudly to proclaim our bon vivuer approach to living!
evening: why not take in a show or a band or something high brow that would appeal to our genteel sensibilities? stepping out and looking dapper (if you are a bloke) and delectable (if thou should be a maiden) maybe we might go for some dancing too.
night: a cozy night afloat on siracusa. the cabin lit by the warming glow of the lights, gentle music wafting around the boat. sleeping for four below and two up top, under the canopy. we should take plenty of rugs, pillows and blankets. possibly earplugs; depends how much everyone has had to drink as to the severity of the sleep apnea.
morning: sprint back to falmouth…
…or…
head for salcombe? torquay? why not?
so pencil into diaries. can take maximum of six persons. minimum one.
