the detox begins in earnest…part 1 “a glorious spring eve”
well, it was decided after the weekend imbibing sessions that a detox to rid the spleen and pancreas of the accumalated detritus would be the order of the day, or indeed week as originally planned.
and so it was then, we sought to test our resolve against that fickle mistress that is the liquour, by leaving kernow island to watch chart troubadors, bloc party. bloc party are a popular beat combo comrpising four members, and right now enjoying marvelous success at the top of the hit parade. pop pickers, this point was not lost on us and it was with butterflies in our tummies and sweat prickling our palms that we set off into the glorious cornish evening.
my fellow companions for the journey were dirk, matt, and musgrove. you may recall these chaps from such previous adventure as “oh! what a horrible plum” and the slightly more challenging read “a thesis on a diatribe”.
we had hardly left newquay when we found ourselves inside quintrell stores stocking up on pasties and vodka and shark and lemonade. the vodka, dirk assured us, would help us get the night off to a good start. as i was ‘des’ for the evening (more on this later) i watched on as the lads gamely sucked away at the teated bottle that dirk had procurred earlier, and into which he had decanted the potent mix. to say it was a vile green and more than faintly reminiscent of dog’s piss could be construed as a crashing understatement.
we clocked up the miles and the black ribbon of motorway stretched out ahead of us. the hilux was dependable, sure footed and more than one of our company was heard to remark, as we cruised in out cushioned charriot, that it was a joyous evening it was to be alive. special mention must also be made to the fact that the hilux is indeed the strongest and most enduring vehicle to ever roll off the production line. this bravado and confidence was by now becoming reflected in the moods of the lads, as the strident coctail began to take hold.

hello crew - as you may know i will kind of be a bit shadowy this weekend as it is smilers stag do. however it does take place in newquay so no doubt will see some of you around the campus!
anyway - reason for post - update on the siracusa situation. she is fixed, repaired and ready to blast everything out of the water again. the pisser is that she is on the bloody hard stand at the marina. they dont have a crane on hand til wednesday. oh did i mention i go away for 11 days? guess when - yes; wednesday. thank you, marina! the service was exquisite!
but the weekend of the 16th june, it’s sure to be a belter. here’s what i am thinking so far….
am: breakfast on boat. we wont concern ourselves with menus at this stage, but will be nice to enjoy some champagne and strawberries first thing under the blue skies around the carrick roads
midday: sport! wakeboarding, snorkelling, freediving, general jumping off boat and messing about. fishing too. high speed cruising, get every one handling the boat (bailey you have PB level 2, your handling skills are eagerly anticipated!)
afternoon: lunch - this could be on boat, or we could sprint back to falmouth and moor up and grab summat in t’pub
afternoon later: high speed run out to sea and then to fowey…or plymouth. shower and change on boat. drinks on deck, quaffing champagne and guffawing loudly to proclaim our bon vivuer approach to living!
evening: why not take in a show or a band or something high brow that would appeal to our genteel sensibilities? stepping out and looking dapper (if you are a bloke) and delectable (if thou should be a maiden) maybe we might go for some dancing too.
night: a cozy night afloat on siracusa. the cabin lit by the warming glow of the lights, gentle music wafting around the boat. sleeping for four below and two up top, under the canopy. we should take plenty of rugs, pillows and blankets. possibly earplugs; depends how much everyone has had to drink as to the severity of the sleep apnea.
morning: sprint back to falmouth…
…or…
head for salcombe? torquay? why not?
so pencil into diaries. can take maximum of six persons. minimum one.

For those of you who know Mark, here is his last MMA fight in Liskeard, Cornwall on 06/05/07. Unfortunately he lost on this occasion but he sure has some balls to get in there in the first place.

FlickrSlidr - Embed Flickr Slideshows into Your Blog
If you like those nifty Flickr slideshows and would like to be able to easily embed them into your website, seek no further. FlickrSlidr is a new tool which makes it dead simple: enter the URL of the user, photo set or group you’d like to embed, slap some tags and a description, choose width and height and you’ll receive the code which you only need to copy and paste into your website.
You can even choose whether you want the slideshow to be in an iframe, or have standards-compliant code which, from what we’ve seen, works just as well.
If you’d like to have some alternatives to this method, we’ve dug up one for you. It’s another code generating tool, called Flickr Slideshow Generator with a bit less options but very similar results to the above.

Bailey is clearly not enjoying her life at this moment.
Leave your suggestions for a photo caption below.
Winners will be chosen by the committee at some point in the future.
In an attempt to bring forward some decent inspiring content, I thought I’d post this video of the street Ninja.
This activity is called “Parkour” and is also known as “Urban Free Running”.
